Olympic Party

Years ago I was a volunteer at the 2002 Winter Olympics in SLC, and I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the opening and closing ceremonies, which was unforgettable (cameras don’t do this justice!!)  I still love all the pomp, spirit and USA pride that comes along with it.  It’s easy to get the boys excited too… we each choose a country to support and follow, which definitely fuels some fun competition around the house.  In the past, we have made flags, recreated a few of the events, and even created our own Opening Ceremony. Here are some fun simple ideas in case you want to do the same!!

White oreos and fruit by the foot makes perfect gold medals, and since I overloaded the kids with treats I made the rings all fruit!

Mini torches made out of ice cream cones and two kinds of cheetos.

I used the kids old trophies for decorations.

Nothing fancy, perfect for a quick party. Get neighbors and friends involved too!
