Cinco de Mayo

This has always been one  of my favorites to celebrate.  It’s been fun living in San Antonio because they celebrate something called Fiesta which is a week long celebration which  started in 1891 originally to honor one of the heroes of the battles of the Alamo.  I love the history and culture behind it and they have so many fun parades, parties and the city celebrates by decorating their houses as well.  The kids (and adults) collect medals and school even shuts down for a day.

To me it feels like a week long Cinco de Mayo!  Last year for work we did a “Cinco de Spayo” for a little Botox celebration and it’s making me want to do a Cinco de Mayo party again.  So in case you need a little inspiration here are some photos. It’s always hard to work with a sterile office environment and fluorescent lights but we tried to at least camoflauge the fire extinguisher and other issues! Thus the terrible pictures sorry!

Cake Balls: Annie’s Petite Treats

Nacho Bar: Teka Molino

Churro Bar: Honchos

Margirita Machine: Margritia Man

Signs, Invites and Labels: Morgan Kader (I absolutely loved these and used my Siloutte to cut them out but I will say punching all the pieces out was definitely a labor of love)

Cascarones: Probably my favorite thing!! Order some here. I wish I could find them less expensive online, they sell them for much less at the grocery stores here. We love using these even for Easter. Do keep in mind you will need more than a dozen and they are kind of messy, we usually take them to a park or somewhere away from our house.

Table runners: Mexican blankets that you can buy here. Again super inexpensive here but more expensive online.

Picado Banners: Amazon

Cakes: My nanny always helps me make these. This one was consent but the other ones we just frosted and threw a bunch of bright flowers on! Super easy!

Banners: I just mixed a couple of banners I found at Target together and if you need an easy fix use taco shells on a ribbon! Such a easy, inexpensive hack!

Photo booth: We just used tissue paper to make a piƱata wall. Props were from Target!Big streamers: I need to do a tutorial on these because these might be my favorite party decoration ever!
